DESCRIPTION
The Nutmegs are species of trees in the genus Myristica. It is the actual seed of the tree, having shape of egg and is about 20 to 30 mm long and 15 to 18 mm wide. It has a distinctive, pungent fragrance and warm, slightly sweet taste and is used to flavour various kinds of foods and beverages.

CONSTITUENTS
This oil contains b-pinene, sabinene, myrcene, a-phellandrene, a-terpinene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, y-terpinene, linalool, terpinen-4-ol, safrole, methyl eugenol and myristicin.
USES
Owing to its distinctive and pungent fragrance with a slight sweet taste, it is extensively used to flavor several types of baked goods, confectioneries, puddings, sausages, vegetables and various beverages.
